STOKE Easy Rider Potters were sensationally dumped out of the National League KO Cup after being thrashed 64-26 by the King’s Lynn Young Stars at the Norfolk Arena on Wednesday night losing out 96-83 on aggregate.

The Potters who had held a twenty five point lead after the first leg at Loomer Road ten days ago were outclassed by their opponents with three riders collecting paid maximums as Steve Worrall, Lewis Kerr and teenage sensation Robert Lambert were all unbeaten by an opponent and Lambert also collecting the Norfolk Arena National League track record in heat two for good measure.

The Potters had to wait until heat fourteen for a race advantage as skipper Luke Priest took the chequered flag and became the first and only Potter to provide a race winner out of the fifteen heats as he defeated Shane Hazelden with Ryan Terry-Daley grabbing third place for a Potters 4-2 heat advantage but it was to little too late as the Young Stars had already progressed into the semi finals in the heat prior.

The Potters did use both tactical rides but to no avail as finished last in heat ten after being taken very wide by home number one Steve Worrall while Lee Smart finished third in heat eleven.

KING’S LYNN 64: Robert Lambert 20+1, Steve Worrall 13+2, Lewis Kerr 10+2, Lewis Rose 8+1, Darren Mallett 6, Shane Hazelden 4+1, Shane Waldron 3.
