STOKE make the long trek South to face play-off chasing Lakeside in the Travel Plus National League at the Arena Essex Raceway on Sunday afternoon, 3pm.

The Hammers slipped to fourth place in the table after a heavy defeat at Plymouth on Friday night as they lost out 57-32 but they a different proposition around their home circuit having taken victory in all of their nine league matches this season.

Luke Bowen leads the Hammers into action as he guests for the injured Zach Wajtknecht and he will be well supported by Ben Morley and Paul Hurry who form a formidable top three around the Essex circuit. Mattie Bates comes in as a guest for Alfie Bowtell who is on SGB Championship duty with Newcastle while Nick Laurence completes the top five. Reserves for the Hammers are Jamie Couzins and Connor Locke while the A.R. Richards Potters are expected to be at full strength for the meeting.

Potters assistant team manager Adam Isherwood said “Lakeside are a very good side especially at home and will be looking to bounce back from their defeat at Plymouth on Friday night as they are looking to secure a play-off place. We had a confidence boosting victory over Mildenhall last night and had some good performances in the team so travel there in good spirits and we will do our best to push them and look to gain something out of the meeting as we do in all matches.”
